"Flowers are always a colorful subject and, like all painters, I am drawn to them often, whether at home or on the road!"

Daisies

This piece, 'Daisies", derives from a subject that viewers easily connect with, and many painters love to paint. The daisy lends itself to all sorts of media and treatments, being simple in form and color. Because it is so decorative, it is chosen over and over by watermedia artists. I tried to make this a strong composition.

Daffodils and Wine

Sometimes watercolor enhances 'pen and ink' drawings, and lets you paint with a "controlled looseness", that lets the viewer move into the picture and mingle with the subjects. This is a comfortable piece with bright loosely painted flowers, a glass of red wine and an old orange tablecloth.
